Welcome to Your New Benefits!
Review your benefit options, and then submit your elections as soon as possible, but no later than January 30, 2021.
Welcome to TEP and UES! Although you’ve been a partner with us for many years, we’re very excited to officially welcome you into your new company beginning in January 2021.
The benefit guides and other content located on this page are designed to acquaint you with the benefits available to you as a TEP or UES employee and provide you with resources to make confident decisions about the benefit elections that are right for you and your family.
The videos, benefit guides, benefit calculators, and other information on this page will provide ample information and are all accessible both on our company systems and from your home computer or mobile device.
Finally, if you have any questions, we are available for one-on-one meetings during scheduled blocks of time when you (and your spouse or anybody else who is helping you to make your benefit decisions) will be able to speak to representatives from our HR Solutions Center and Compensation & Retirement teams. You can find more information about these opportunities below.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Provided you timely enroll in benefits, your coverage will be effective on January 1, 2021. However, healthcare providers will not be able to see that you are covered by this insurance until after your elections are submitted and processed. This means that during that period of time you may need to pay directly for your care and then submit a claim for reimbursement. You may reduce the gap by reviewing the information here early and submitting your elections right away after you receive the enrollment forms, which will occur after your start date at TEP or UES.

What to Expect
Follow these steps to enroll in your benefits.
1. Arm yourself with information
- Review this site: Here you’ll find in-depth information about each benefit and access to important forms and documents.
- Read your benefit guide: The benefit guides are your first step toward understanding the valuable benefits available to you. Use your guide to compare plan options and evaluate costs.
2. Determine your needs (early, if you can)
Take time to consider your past expenses to help you estimate the amount of health care you will require in the upcoming year. UNS provides benefit calculators to help you with this evaluation. Click here and download the rate calculator tool to calculate your estimated costs.
3. Enroll in benefits as soon as possible, but no later than January 30, 2021
- After your start date, you will receive an email with an election form.
- Indicate your benefit elections on the form. You must elect Life and Long-Term Disability (LTD) coverage, but you may waive coverage for Medical, Dental, or Vision. Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) and Business Travel Accident (BTA) coverages are automatically provided by UNS at no cost to you (depending on your company/classification).
- Add any dependents you want to be covered under your benefits.
- Birth certificates or adoption paperwork and Social Security numbers are required when adding new child dependents.
- Marriage certificates and Social Security numbers are required for adding a spouse.
- For security reasons, please do not send these documents or items in an unsecured email. If you indicate on your form that you are adding dependents, the HR Solutions Center team will follow up by sending you a secure link to upload and send those documents safely.
- When you’ve made all your elections, follow the instructions provided to sign and submit the form.
4. Possible follow up
Following your enrollment, you may be asked to provide additional information, such as Evidence of Insurability (EOI) for Life insurance. Download forms and instructions here.
6. Confirm your elections
When you receive your confirmation statement, review it carefully to make sure your benefits and dependent information are correct.
