We’re thrilled to have you on board. One of the first steps in getting settled is choosing the benefits that best fit your needs. This page will guide you through the enrollment process and introduce the programs available to support your health, finances, and wellbeing.

Your benefits are an important part of your total compensation and represent a significant investment in your health, financial security, and future. This site will help you understand your options so you can make confident enrollment decisions. If you have questions, we’re here to help.

Enrollment

Benefits Enrollment Checklist

You have 31 days from your start date to enroll in benefits via Workday. If you miss this window, you will be enrolled in default coverage and won’t be able to make changes until next year’s Open Enrollment, unless you experience a qualifying life event.

Medical, Dental & Vision Plans

Review your plan options and choose Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage for yourself and any eligible dependents. Review eligible dependents information needed at Who Can Enroll?

Review your benefit options to select your coverage:

Voluntary Benefits

Consider enrolling in supplemental benefits. Coverage and eligibility may vary.

Refer to the Benefits at a Glance for your group-specific information:

Choose the Right Spending Account
  • Enrolling in the HDHP? Set up a Health Savings Account (HSA). You may also enroll in the Limited Purpose FSA for eligible dental and vision expenses and/or the Dependent Care FSA for eligible childcare expenses.
  • Enrolling in a PPO plan? Choose how much you want to contribute to the Health Care FSA and/or the Dependent Care FSA.

Note: You must make a new FSA election each year. FSA and HSA elections do not roll over.

Review plan options to select your coverage:

Add Dependents & Beneficiaries

Add eligible dependents to your coverage and select beneficiaries:

  • Update Life and AD&D beneficiaries in Workday.
  • Update Retirement Savings beneficiaries through Fidelity at 401k.com.
Submit Your Enrollment

Review all elections and submit your completed enrollment in Workday within 31 days. Otherwise, you will be enrolled into the default elections.

Confirm all benefit elections have been captured and submitted through your Workday event within 31 days of your hire date. Please note, by submitting this benefit event, you attest that all information entered is true, accurate, and complete to the best of your knowledge, including information related to dependents and beneficiaries. 
 
You can open a Help Case in Workday if you run into any issues. Go to Workday Home > Menu > Help > Create Case. 

When Coverage Begins

  • Non-Union (Unclassified): Date of hire
  • UEE 769: Date of hire effective January 1, 2027 (first of the month following your date of hire in 2026)
  • All other unions (Classified): First of the month following your date of hire

Other Important Things to Know

Know Your Employee Group
  • Union (Classified) employees are covered by a collective bargaining agreement, which may affect benefit eligibility, plan options, and enrollment deadlines.
  • Non-Union (Unclassified) employees are salaried and eligible for the UNS benefits described for their group on this site.

Check Your Benefit Deductions

Benefit premiums are usually deducted from your paycheck before taxes. Deductions begin with your first paycheck after coverage starts. Check your pay stub to make sure your elections are correct. Review How to Enroll to learn more.

Hired Between October 14 and December 31, 2026?

New hires with a hire date between October 14 and December 31, 2026 will need to submit TWO events — one for their 2026 benefits and one for their 2027 benefits.
